Shipping & Packaging at Flea and Frame
At Flea and Frame, I primarily ship using a standard 12” x 12” x 8” box to help keep shipping costs lower for single-item purchases. Because most of the pieces I curate are vintage and fragile, only a limited number of items — depending on their size and shape — can safely fit in one box.
Shopify’s calculated shipping system requires sellers to select a default package size in order to generate real-time carrier rates. This means I must choose a standard box that acts as the baseline for shipping calculations. Shopify then bases rates on the total weight assigned to each item, rather than evaluating each order individually at checkout.
To ensure your pieces arrive safely, the listed weight includes not only the item itself, but also the box and the generous protective packing materials required for fragile vintage items. I build that in intentionally so there are no surprises when it’s time to pack your order securely.
When multiple delicate items are purchased, you may see a higher shipping total. This allows me to safely split orders into multiple boxes when needed and properly protect each piece. My priority is always safe arrival — preserving the charm and integrity of every treasure you bring home.
